I think that the students understand the importance of Collete and respected her for it. They showed that Collette had a different way of thinking than most women in her time. They were able to show her life in a fun, interesting way but still get a point across.
This video showed that Colette didn't follow the rules of her day and time. She went against the rules and wanted to be equal to men. This showed a lot of courage for a woman to be defiant like she was.
This clip helps us understand the guts Collete had in stepping out of the norm in her society. She not only was a prominent woman writer but also a performer at he Moulin Rouge, which held its reputation as well. The students in the clip portrayed a bold representation of Collette. I thought it was very well planned.
I think that these high school students have obviously found a lot in Colette's life to relate to. In today's world where drama, and scandal is all the rage, it is easy to see how students would be attracted and intrigued by Colette's life and lifestyle. It seems that she would be right at home in this generation.
i do believe that there was something special that these students saw in collete. for any high school student to be interested in something other the norm is great, so obviously there was something that intrigued them.
