I think probably the most obvious benefit of having accessible clean water for the community is that they gain back three hours of their lives everyday. One can only imagine the beneficial things that one can do in three hours, even if it is simply to take a rest. Also, clean water eliminates the previous problems of bad health, and sanitation that plagued the community. I mean, basically, clean water did for this Haitian community what it does for communities everywhere--it is a vital source of life.
The importance of water in the haitian community here is for health primarily. The lack of clean water due to several miles of walking to get even the dirtiest water if any is strictly to keep disease down. Also as Afua said it gives the people of the community more time on their hands to do as they see fit. The benefits are less disease, more time as said before and water that is realiable. When the villagers walked they did not know how much or even if any water was going to come of their journey. This well for Africa type of thing has saved lots of lives.
The importance of water for this community is longer life. Clean water makes people healthier. When they didn't have clean water people were getting diseases and losing three hours of their lives everyday. The positive effects that the clean water brought was hope and a source of life. Hope for a future and hope for a new start. The clean water was a source to save lives in the community.
The clean water, for this community, would mean more hours in the day to devote to other things. Three hours a day equals out to 1095 hours in a year that can be spent on other things benefiting their community. With this ready access to water, the risk for disease and illness will continue to diminish.
The most important benefit of having clean water is for the health. These people are able to drink water that does not have bacteria or other germs in it, which prevents disease. The water source is also more reliable and the people do not have to work so hard to get the water and make it drinkable.
The importance of water is mainly for health reasons. With unclean water, bacteria and diseases plagued the individuals of this community. Bringing clean water to this community will give people their vitality. It will keep them from suffering from the terrible effects of unsanitary water.
The importance of water to this community is foremost health and second without water in the community they had to walk three hours to get it. When this community had unclean water the children were getting very sick but now they have good clean water that has bought the children's health back. Everyone in this community is happy because they have clean water available and it not three hours away
The importance of water is health. Without clean water alot of the people would become infected with deadly diseases. I also agree with Afua because the three hour walk takes alot of time away from other things the people could be doing. It would be horrible to have to walk three hours to retrieve water. The positive things that the clean water has brought to this community is peace of mind because they dont have to worry about diseases when they drink the water and they dont have to think about the three hour walk to get water. The clean water gives the people more hope for a better life.
water is the wellspring of life for this commnunity. it has increased the quality of living and has decreased the growing and spreading of disease in america. It is living proof for that community that if you put your minds to something and use all your resources wisely you can make difference and this provides hope for the community. Water became a new sense of hope for this community.
The importance of clean water in this Haitian community is great because so many positive things can grow out of this event. Better health is one example and wasted effort during the three hour walk to get a little water is another positive result of the fountains of clean water.The problems of unclean water range from diarrhea to death by toxic algae, bacteria or germs. The positive effects of clean water are the improved health of the people, more leisure time, and improved standard of living.
A human can not survive without water. It is vital to life to have it. It was important to the community's health and wellbeing. Not to mention, like Afua said, that it gives them three hours of their day back.
