French poetry flows much differently than American poetry. It is harder to pick up on the rhyme scheme than what I am used to reading.
From the stand point that I am a poet myself, the styles are completely different than what I write. Even though my poems do not have rhyme schemes they do rhythm. I see a different type of rhythm in these French poems.

I think French poetry flows better than English poetry. It has a definite rhythm and meter to it, although it is harder to figure out. It stands out from other poetry I have read due to that fact. One question: do the French have haikus?

the french poems do have meter and rnythm, but its different than the american poems i've read. i'm not really into poetry because it confuses me. it is hard to pick up on allusions and metaphors. however, talking about the poems in class helps me undstand the concepts and meanings the writer is trying to convey.

French poetry flows much better than Engish poetry, because it is a romantic language. The one thing that is much harder is trying to pick out the literary elements.

french poetry to me has a deeper meaning and has a lot more significance. also having to read poems in the language you appreciate it more because you have more invested in it.

I agree that french poetry flows much better than english poetry. It is such a beautiful language, but it is harder to pick up the rhythm. This could be, however, that I am just not as familiar with the language.

French poetry seems to hold more metaphors and symbolic meaning compared to American poetry. The themes are based more the importance of life and love instead of romantic themes that are often associated with American poetry.

French poetry seems to be so sad. Everything we have read seems to be depressing and end in tradegy of some sort. French poetry uses a lot more symbolism and metaphors than most English poetry. More French poetry seems to rhyme better than most English poetry.

I think French poetry is interesting. Very much like English poetry in the issues and emotions that it tackles. And many of the poets that we've read seem to have led very interesting lives, much like English poets of back in the day (think Lord Byron). I particularly liked Demain L'aube and Le Dormeur du Val. I also like that they continue to be relevant and applicable way past their day.

French poetry is beautiful. I agree it has much better flow and rhythm than English poetry. French poetry promotes a deeper study into the poem given its mainly because its in a different language but also because it has profound meaning.

I think that French poetry is quite beautiful. Through there is no one type of poetry than the other like there is no one type of brush stroke in art. I think that to enjoy poetry you must keep an open mind. Whether rhyme or rhythm is in question I think it flows the same as English poetry; however, French is a romance language so people would say that French poetry is better. Though I think they are just as good as one another.

Although it has been quite a challenge for me to analyze and read the text. I have gotten better with time, and have come to appreciate the French Literature. Page d'ecriture is my favorite poem.
